Hey all,
I’m back, again, to ask for your consideration with preordering my next comic miniseries, again.
BLACK BEACON #1 - an interstellar comic from me and Sebastian Piriz through Heavy Metal launches in single issues this July, and will run for 6 issues in total. Use the order code: MAY211491 for our first issue!
There's an intergalactic space station out there bigger than our solar system where something wants everyone to come along and meet up. The beacon made it sound like a utopia, but what Niko finds upon her arrival is a lawless expanse where everyone is out for themselves and she's so late she doesn't even have a seat at the table.
A story of survival, truth, and experience lies in front of Niko if she can figure out who to trust and what to do before the secret of her journey catches up with her.
These issues collect the story running through the Heavy Metal Magazine, we kicked off last week. The issues will have pages of back matter that detail into world building, character information, and a little extra story through all that.
I’m so insanely proud of the world Seb and I have built in this story. It’s wildly expansive, and yet we’ve got some awesome personal moments for our two lead characters. It’s the usual tightrope walk from me of building an epic playground, but then wanting your attention on our little toys in that scope.
If you dig sci fi like SAGA, CONTACT, DESCENDER, DECORUM, ODY-C, BLADE RUNNER then this one’s for you. It’s full of aliens and tech and culture and Seb ensures he keeps me in line and that it all works.
Your local comic shop will be finalising their orders for this first single issue this coming week, so please reach out to them to preorder this [if it’s your jam]. We go big with this one, it’s got some huge moments and themes and levels of awesome coming, we promise you that.
This will mean I’ve got 2 sci fi miniseries running for the rest of 2021 - true, and they are each different in scope and detail, and both are extremely personal to me. I think you’ll love the one-two punch they offer.
I’ll leave you with some more sample pages, may they find you well.
