Perhaps You’d Care To Sample?
Links about: great comics on the crowdfund, and some solo writing rpgs.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t use scrollable media anymore, so my odds of being linked to stuff have fallen. I appreciate someone linking me to stuff because it’s a thumbs up showing itself through the swirling storm of a million sites and inputs that surround us daily. Feel free to read these, steal these, drop these into Pocket [or some other saving app, to read at your leisure later on], or just enjoy my witty commentary on each one.

PINK MIDNIGHT PRESENTS: THE BUTTERFLY HOUSE - this new comic from artist Juan Romera, editor Claire Napier, and writer Paul Allor is on Zoop now selling digital and print copies of this beautiful and haunting story, and they’re really close to hitting their funding goal!
Paul is a good mate of mine, and one of the best writers I know, and he’s bringing so many of his skills to this one-shot. It’s a story with visuals and moments and themes that will stick with you for a very long time. You gotta go over and work out how you plan on reading this, because you absolutely need to be reading this.
Scope these brilliant covers and then just go hit the link and thank me later!

GORILLA MY DREAMS RPG Zine on Kickstarter - This campaign ended before I could send the post, whoops and damn. But follow the publisher link because they’re constantly putting out good stuff!
I’m sure I’ve talked a-plenty about this comic; it’s one of my favourite Aussie comics of all time, and right now Big Tim Stiles is running a short “Quickstarter” campaign to fund this role playing game version of his world and he’s yet to steer me wrong on anything so I’m all in for this one.
I appreciate someone with hustle and heart and Tim has these in spades - more than I do, and it always warms my heart to see his work and enjoy his presence, so please support him however you can.

THE FURY OF THE NORTHMEN rpg on Kickstarter - Jess Nevins has created a Viking rpg and it looks/sounds amazing. Jess is one of the smartest writers I can think of, and he’s poured everything into this campaign, so if you’re a gamer, and you’re down with authentic Viking fare, this is absolutely something you’ll need to check out.
///
THE RELENTLESS LARK on Kickstarter - a comic by Mark O. Stack that’s this interesting view on the superhero form and it’s very worth scoping out.
///
BANISHED, a webcomic - Scott Base has a new short comic up. This one looking at the power of words, of imagination and creativity as acts of actual creation and the power it actually gives us. The narrative of this one is fine, it isn’t too hard to chew, but the little pieces it leaves between the molars, that you’ll be thinking about later on still, those are the best parts.
///
THE BEWITCHING HOUR, a solo rpg journaling game - this romance solo writing game is very brilliant, and very very steeped in the genre. Full of perfectly selected words, items, locations, and situations, this is a walk through the most Victorian romantic genre ideas and it’s fairly short and punchy to play. It’s also PWYW, if that helps.

I also write solo writing rpgs :]
Just a friendly reminder that I also write strange little one-page solo journaling/writing rpgs - you can download them for free, or throw in a coin, if you please.
I love writing these, and haven’t come up with a new one in a while - summer ended up busy preparing a presentation for work, and hanging out with family, and recharging.
I’m hoping I’ll get the energy to write another one soon. I’ve done fantasy, and suburban horror, and a strange seaside town, and how to battle writer’s block, as well as others.
If you want a little kick in the writing department for 2023, go scope these out and hopefully one might help boost an idea for you.

Who is Ryan K Lindsay?
I’m an award-winning Australian comic writer. I’ve been published by Black Mask, Dark Horse, ComixTribe, Mad Cave, IDW, Heavy Metal, Vertigo, and a few more. Kickstarter has been a home for many short comics. I often get to collaborate with great mates, and this brings me joy.
I write about balancing this creative game alongside a full teaching load [currently College English] and a lovely family load and the forever melting brain that is modern man. I think about a lot of stuff, I still don’t know if it’s the right stuff. ymmv.
